Leader to Leader: WV Exchange- Hosted by Mayor Mary-Ann Booth with guest Ian Tostenson, President and CEO, BC Restaurant and Food Association
Fast, casual and fine dining restaurants across West Vancouver and the North Shore have been rallying to continue to provide services, shift to accommodate takeout and delivery, and adjust to ever changing health protection protocols. Beyond the basic purpose of providing food and drink, restaurants occupy important roles in shaping our local economy and the nature and makeup of our neighbourhoods and community. They are part of how we connect with each other and are places where residents and visitors alike feel a sense of welcome and belonging, as well as being key employers and part of the larger food supply industry.
Join Mayor Booth for this special discussion with industry expert Ian Tostenson, BCRFA. The winter period can be difficult for restaurants at the best of times and with the pandemic still restricting social gatherings the pressures this year will be even greater This discussion will focus on how restaurants have been impacted, are continuing to serve their customers during the pandemic, and ideas on what our community, governments and business groups can do now and as we move towards post-COVID recovery.
