Events

The West Vancouver Chamber is committed to creating gatherings that are informative, relevant, and fun. Whether it is business driven, social, or governance all our events focus on the community and business of West Vancouver and our sister community on Bowen Island.

Signature events are the Leader to Leader series with business leaders and community guests, updates from MP Patrick Weiler and MLAs Karin Kirkpatrick and Jordan Sturdy, the long run Business After Business networking socials, social events such as the Holiday Gathering supported by British Pacific Properties, plus the Business Excellence Awards.

The power of a member-driven organization is that many of the best ideas come from members who recognize an opportunity to connect and share information or ideas. If you have a suggestion, please contact us at info@westvanchamber.com.

Mayor Mike, Unplugged – Wednesday, March 2, 2016

March 2, 2016 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

| $50.00 – $60.00

MAYOR MIKE UNPLUGGED
Wednesday, March 2, 2016
5:00 pm to 7:30 pm
West Vancouver Yacht Club

Mayor Michael Smith

It’s no secret Mayor Mike Smith is solidly behind the new Waterfront Plan.  “If the Grosvenor development is the jewel in Ambleside’s shiny new crown, our new Waterfront Plan is the crown itself—the structure that showcases every current and future jewel that Ambleside and Dundarave has to offer.  But it’s the very key to the success of our independent business community.”

And he’s never been one to parse words.  “I can’t think of a time in our history when it’s been more important to take bold steps to move forward.  For the past 40 years, every Council has chewed on various waterfront plans, but so far, not one has had the courage to pass them.  Now’s the time to find that courage.”  This is your chance to hear him open up and reveal what West Van has to gain from the Waterfront Plan—and what’s at stake if it slips away this time.

He’ll show you what it will look like, what may relocate within the current landscape, what may stay, what will be enhanced and more important, what new opportunities it will bring—as well as what else we need to anchor a thriving business corridor.  He’ll also reveal how this plan fits into the overall vision for the mountainside and the future of West Vancouver as a forward facing community in a booming Lower Mainland—a community under pressure from this very boom.  And how all of this fits into West Van’s need for a modern, expansive economy.

Mayor Mike, Unplugged is never politics as usual.  It’s your opportunity to hear what our future is really about, unvarnished—with great wine, great food, in great company.  Be there.  Bring your questions.  You’ll get the whole truth and nothing but.
